Memphis fans to get final peek at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium days before home opener

The Charles Huff Radio Show on Thursday, Sept. 3 will be held at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
Host Jeff Brightwell made the announcement during Huff’s first radio show of the season at Brookhaven Pub and Grill on Thursday. Fans packed the place to support the Tigers before they leave for Las Vegas to play at UNLV on Saturday (9 p.m., FOX).
Next week’s show will be held at 7 p.m. on the 300 level of the West tower two days before the Tigers play host to Arkansas State on Sept. 5.
The last time fans had the chance to see the stadium was during the fan fest Aug. 8. Some wondered if the renovations would be done in time for the home opener.

“I think this is an opportunity for us to show it is going to be ready on time (and) under budget,” Huff said. “And it is not a premium-seat, premium-person-only stadium. It’s Memphis; the city, the community, our fans, it’s your stadium. So, we want to open it to you guys as much as possible.”
The new Huff era of Memphis football will be accompanied by an improved Liberty Stadium that Memphis expects to impact the game day experience for all fans.
The Landers Plaza, new West tower, the improved audio system and video boards are all part of that transformation. The $7 meal deal that debuted at the fan fest also appeared to be a major hit with the fanbase.
