Electri-CITY Park at Chuck Hutton Toyota
Grinder, Taber & Grinder was selected to construct the Chuck Hutton Toyota EV charging station and solar farm, a project designed to advance sustainable automotive infrastructure while redefining the customer experience. Located just minutes from Memphis International Airport, the facility was envisioned as a forward-looking destination that combines clean energy with thoughtful amenities.
The project centers on a high-capacity charging system supported by an on-site solar field, contributing to reduced energy demand and long-term sustainability. Site development included extensive earthwork, drainage installation, and coordination of the charging infrastructure to support increased capacity and future growth.
GTG also delivered a fully developed site designed to enhance the time spent on-site. Amenities include lounge areas with soundproof office modules, recreational features, and spaces for relaxation, along with a fenced dog-walk zone and open green areas.
Sustainability remained a priority throughout construction. In addition to the solar field, the property incorporates alternative landscape strategies to reduce maintenance and environmental impact. A flock of sheep is maintained on-site to naturally manage vegetation, eliminating the need for traditional mowing and reinforcing the project’s commitment to low-impact operations.
The result is a fully integrated facility that supports evolving EV infrastructure while delivering a unique and efficient experience, with GTG constructing a space that reflects a forward-thinking approach to energy and design.
