The Grove at GPAC
Set within a canopy of mature trees, The Grove at GPAC extends the Germantown Performing Arts Center experience into an outdoor setting designed for performance and community gathering. Grinder, Taber & Grinder constructed the venue to mirror the quality and intent of the main facility while adapting it for open-air use.
The park-like space accommodates more than 1,200 guests and is organized around a series of pavilions and plazas that support circulation, gathering, and service. High-end architectural details, including an artist-crafted concrete stamp at the entry plaza and cross laminated timber decking at the bar, ticketing booth, and VIP pavilion, create a cohesive and elevated environment.
At the center of the venue, a covered 40' by 70' stage anchors the experience. An 18' by 31.2' high-definition video screen and advanced simulcast technology allow performances and rehearsals from the indoor hall to be broadcast outdoors, placing the venue among a limited number of facilities nationwide with this capability.
Throughout the site, materials, lighting, and layout were carefully coordinated to balance durability with design, resulting in an outdoor venue that functions as a natural extension of GPAC while supporting a wide range of performances and events.
