Cameron Brown Park Pickleball Courts Expansion
With pickleball continuing to grow in popularity throughout the country, Cameron Brown Park in Germantown needed more room to play and better amenities to support both players and spectators. Grinder, Taber & Grinder expanded the existing eight-court facility with two new post-tensioned pickleball courts, creating a more complete recreational destination while keeping the park active throughout construction.
Beyond the courts, GTG constructed a colored concrete spectator pavilion with bleachers, installed new fencing and lighting, and added a prefabricated restroom facility. Site improvements included new water and sewer utilities, sidewalks, landscaping, and enhanced accessibility through new ADA parking, a crosswalk, and an accessible entrance.
Because the existing courts and park remained open, GTG completed the work in multiple phases to minimize disruption. Temporary fencing and signage helped maintain safe access while major scopes were scheduled around park activities. One of the project's more technical challenges was setting the prefabricated restroom, which arrived in two sections and had to be carefully maneuvered through the tight site and precisely aligned on previously installed concrete piers.
The completed expansion adds much-needed court capacity while improving the overall experience at Cameron Brown Park. With new courts, spectator seating, restrooms, and improved accessibility, the facility is better equipped to serve Germantown's growing pickleball community.
