Hog & Hominy
Following a fire that destroyed the original structure, Hog & Hominy was presented an opportunity to rebuild and reimagine their restaurant from the ground up. Grinder, Taber & Grinder partnered with the team to deliver a new space that moves beyond the limitations of the original house and supports the continued growth of the concept.
Working with Carlton Edwards Architects, GTG helped bring a new vision for the restaurant to life. With an expanded footprint, the layout was reconfigured to better support both operations and guest experience. The new space is nearly twice the size of the original, allowing for a more open plan that separates the bar and dining areas while maintaining a cohesive flow throughout.
The new space introduces vaulted ceilings, modern finishes, and a large bar that serves as a central feature. Increased volume and natural light create an environment that feels open and spacious while accommodating a significantly larger number of guests.
At the same time, care was taken to preserve the character that made Hog & Hominy a Memphis staple. Rich wood elements and a more intimate dining area balance the larger layout, creating a space that feels both familiar and refined.
The result is a rebuilt restaurant that supports continued growth while staying true to its roots, with GTG delivering a space that enhances both function and experience.
